Saturday, April 13, 2019 we have the privilege to host a private screening of a new movie based on John Bunyan’s book “The Pilgrim’s Progress.” Click here to watch a trailer for the movie.
We will be viewing an exclusive pre-release of the film in current format (final edits, sound, and some of the special effects are yet to be completed) in the sanctuary.
This family-friendly animated feature follows the book closely. A man named Christian discovers a book, and the more he reads it the more he is convicted of sin and judgement, and a burden begins to develop on his back.
Desiring to discover the truth and escape his town, the city of Destruction, he ventures outside the forbidden borders and begins his journey to find a Celestial City ruled by a good and noble King, meeting friend and foes along the way.
The film is rated PG, and the run time is 2 hours 10 minutes.
A free-will offering will be taken to help support the global distribution of the film
Worship time on Easter Sunday morning will be 9:00 a.m. The youth group will be serving breakfast beforehand.
Easter Sunday, April 1 – Peniel youth group fundraiser breakfast 8 a.m., worship service 9 a.m., no Sunday school, no coffee fellowship
Lenten services will be at 6:45 pm every Wednesday night through March, with a soup supper served from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Everyone is welcome to come.
Be sure to place Wednesday, Feb. 14, & Saturdays, Feb. 10 and Feb. 17 on your calendar!
Saturday, Feb. 10 at 6 pm the fellowship hall will be open to host a night of games and snacks. Bring one of each to share – show up around 6 pm for a fun-filled evening.
Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 pm the church youth group will host its annual Valentine’s Banquet. This is one of the fundraisers the youth put on to raise money for their biannual youth group convention.
Also, don’t forget that our lenten season starts Wednesday, Feb. 14 with our Ash Wednesday service. A soup supper will be served from 5:30-6:30 pm, with the church service starting at 6:45 pm.
All events are open to the public, but the youth group would like you to RSVP so they can plan for food.
